Distance racing through the islands
Saturday brings the Sandusky Islands Race: open-water legs, tactical choices, and a Lake Erie course for crewed racers, solo sailors, and the cruising fleet.
Saturday, August 29, 2026
A Lake Erie distance race through the islands, hosted by Sandusky Sailing Club.
Race Weekend
The Sandusky Islands Race is more than a start line and a finish time. It is a full weekend built around racing hard, gathering at the club, and making the most of late summer on Lake Erie.
Come for Friday DF95 racing, dinner, and music by Addy Ricks, then stay for Saturday's distance race through the islands, followed by BBQ, awards, music, and a party by the RayBans.
Docking
Boats participating in the SSC Funday Race or PCYC Green Island Race over Labor Day weekend may also dock through the week.
